Yoga Photography

This is probably my favourite thing in the world to shoot. I love shooting yogi's who are passionate about their practice. I did this shoot of my friend Stephanie (YogaWithSteph.ca) yesterday. She's an amazing yoga instructor here in Calgary, and she introduced me to my favourite yoga practice ever: Yin. It is so amazing. The shots below are my favourites from the shoot.

This one I think is my favourite, but i can't decide if I prefer the colour version or the black and white.

Backlog

I think I've been avoiding posting because I feel like I haven't done much shooting lately. I had a glance back through my smugmug storage, and my lightroom library this week. And then I had a quick scroll through my blog just now. In reality, I have a huge backlog of stuff I haven't posted. I have done more shooting in the past 6-8 months than I realized. So for the time being, I'm hoping to post 1 or 2 favourite photos from some of the work I've done this past year.

I did a shoot for my awesome friend Nikki last summer with her beautiful horse Inshallah. Recently she sold the horse so I was reminiscing and looking through the photos we did. This is one of my absolute favourite shots from this day. There will be a few more to come from this set because I love a lot of these.

24/365 Skyline

So I'm betting there are people in the world who are tired of seeing Calgary's skyline. That's ok, I'm not one of them. And I happen to have a pretty stellar view of it 30 seconds from my house.

365 Photos may not be posted on their proper day this weekend as I have some plans, however they will be posted in the correct sequence by Monday at the latest.

Bri

21/365 Feathers and 50's

Went for a ride on my bike tonight. Saw this feather in the grass while I was waiting for a helicopter to circle back around over head so I could take a picture. The helicopter never came back. Whatever, this feather is probably cooler than a helicopter anyway. Also, I love my "nifty" 50mm. Seriously, favourite lense ever. I will probably still try to shoot mostly with my 70-300 for awhile just so I learn how to work with it better.

Now I'm off to watch videos about bicycle maintenance so I can fix stuff myself.

Cheers,
Bri

13/365 Weekends

I spent the better part of this afternoon relaxing by the pool at my friends condo. It was awesome. My shoulders are a bit crispy, but it was awesome. So nice to have a weekend of just relaxing, napping, and not having to think about anyone else. Was going to finish it off with a cup of tea on the front steps, that lasted just long enough to get this shot because the mosquitoes came out rather quickly.

Cheers,
Bri
