Postures for Peace

My friend Stephanie, a yoga instructor here in Calgary is doing a Yoga calendar and Karma class fundraiser this fall in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Anyone who follows me on Twitter or knows me personally will probably know already that Mental Health awareness is a cause thats pretty close to my heart. I have depression. It makes life incredibly difficult some days and I'm not going to deny that I've been pretty close to the edge on more than one occasion. Mental health does not get enough frank discussion. I am willing to bet that everyone of you knows someone with depression. You may not know about it, but I guarantee someone close to you battles with it every day. Its incredibly difficult, if not impossible to battle chronic depression alone. People who have it need to be able to reach out and get the support they need. If we don't talk about it, no one gets the support they need.

Today we went out and did some photos that will hopefully be included in the calendar. It was a very fun afternoon and I can't wait until the calendar comes out and I can share the photos! There will also be a series of Karma yoga classes being held to raise additional funds for the project.
